Hey friends! 👋 I’m Elijah, the maker behind Enby DIY. I got into woodworking in 2022 as a way to relax after working in demanding tech jobs. I started by refinishing a beautiful oak dresser that was left behind in our house by the previous owners. Since then, I’ve improved my skills and even started a furniture business.

Enby DIY is for everyone! I want to push the status quo for DIY and woodworking. The videos I watch on YouTube focus a lot on modern and high-end designs. They have their place, but those designs left me wanting more. That “more”, was color. I like maximalist design that doesn’t overwhelm. I think more things in our homes should have color!

I’m a non-binary diyer and woodworker who sees problems (and the world) differently than others. This allows me to explore the intersection of art and DIY. This blog and my YouTube channel seeks to show you how to build practical things that solve problems around your house. This means taking into account our shrinking living spaces and rising costs. To me DIY is empowerment. I can see something I like on Pinterest or Instagram, figure out how to customize it for my space, and then build it.

We lovingly call our family of pets “The Chonks”. Kamala is the white and gray cat, Miru is the black and orange cat, and Penny is the pretty girl sitting in front of some restored nightstands.
